Lady Bastet – Sandal
Lady Bastet Sandal, a sandal is a traditional sailing vessel, smaller and more maneuverable than a dahabiya. Historically used for transporting goods and materials along the Nile, these boats have been restored and repurposed for leisurely cruises. Typically ranging from 16 to 25 meters in length, sandals feature two lateen sails, allowing them to glide gracefully along the river. Their shallow draft enables them to dock along the banks, offering travelers an intimate experience of Egypt’s landscapes and villages. Today, they provide a serene and authentic way to explore the Nile, blending heritage with modern comfort
Aboard Lady Bastet, accommodation offers a harmonious blend of charm and indulgence. The family cabin features two queen beds, creating a spacious yet intimate haven, while two twin-bed standard cabins provide additional comfort. Two single-bed cabins complete the arrangement, ensuring restful stays for up to eight guests. Each cabin is individually decorated with elegant oriental furnishings and equipped with its own ensuite bathroom, adding to the vessel’s sophisticated allure.
The sun deck is the heart of Lady Bastet, where guests can gather in the glass-enclosed restaurant and lounge in the inviting seating area. The top deck, with expansive front and rear seating, is the perfect vantage point for admiring life along the riverbanks. Whether savoring the shifting scenery, indulging in early morning meditation or yoga, or simply watching the golden hues of sunrise and sunset dance upon the tranquil waters, every moment aboard Lady Bastet is an invitation to embrace the beauty of Egypt from an extraordinary perspective.
